Way too many things have happened in the last 6 months. Since August I have experienced a couple of family emergencies, two health scares, Hurricane Harvey, and work craziness. All in all, the final gasps of 2017 kicked my butt.
The overwhelm was real and I had to give myself permission to step away from my personal pursuits. When I say, "give myself permission," I mean walk away with no guilt, shame, regret, judgement, or fear pulling me down. I needed to put family first, and, contrary to popular belief, our culture does not make that easy. You have to be "grinding" to matter - or at least that's what my gremlins whisper in the whee hours of the morning.
Stepping away was the hardest and best thing I could have done. God got my life together!
So I went about the task of healing what was broken, procuring what was missing, and building up what was not strong enough to bear an increased load. And, with each triumph, I did a little dance with my Father.
Which brings me to today...
The only way to obtain some type of balance is to make mental space, then organize that space into a doable schedule. When you have a scheduled slot for everything, it becomes easy to set aside anything until its time comes up on the schedule. (More on that in another blog post.)
My schedule only allows me time to post content once per week, so I will make the best of that with a new schedule beginning February 1:
1st Thursday: New Prayer
2nd Thursday: New Podcast Episode
3rd Thursday: New Blog Post
4th Thursday: New Podcast Episode & New Newsletter (for subscribers)
I'm really excited to finish out Season 1 of the podcast and sharing the new content I have waiting in the wings.
Thank God for 2018!
